Create Workflow
First, create a new workflow by navigating to Customization > Workflows > Workflow > New. To set up the workflow you need to fill the following fields:
- Name (Provide a unique name that easily identifies what the purpose is from this workflow)
- Record Type (Select your record in this example “Payment File Administration”)
- Release Status (Select here “Released”)
- Initiation (Select here “Event Based”)
- Event Definition (Check here “On View Or Update”)
- Press save
Add First Workflow Action
Add new action by first clicking on “State” at the top right side of the page. Then click at the bottom on “+New Action”.
In the screen that appears select the option “Add Button”.
Enter in the field “LABEL” a name for your button for example “Upload EFT File” and press save.
Add Second Workflow Action
Press on the top left side of the page the button named “New State” and drag it under the first state. Then drag the end button from state 1 to state 2.
On the right side click again on “New action” in the same way the action was created under the previous step. Select as the new action now “SFTP Connector Uploader (Custom)”.
On the popup that opens, only press Save for this example.
Add Transition
To trigger the upload the workflow must be configured to transition from state 1 to 2 when the upload button is pressed. In the first state, the workflow will only show the upload button but won’t perform any actions yet. In state 2 we have told the workflow to trigger the upload script. To create the transition double click arrow that is between states 1 and 2. A pop-up will open where we set the following fields
- Execute On Button (Select here the button that was created in the first step”
- And press save
Workflow Disclaimer
The workflow explained in this installation guide is a basic workflow that allows the file to be uploaded without any restrictions and must be seen as a testing workflow that may be used to test the system. We recommend extending the workflow from here with custom logic as desired for your company’s situation. If you aren’t experienced with workflows or do not know how to create the logic you need it’s always possible to request assistance by contacting your implementation consultant. Zone can offer you an extended workflow for safely uploading EFT Payment Batches with file protection.
