Learn how to store the Private Key safely in your NetSuite account if you haven’t used the provided key generator.
Create a Folder
To create the folder navigate to Documents > Files > File Cabinet > New. Use a naming convention that suits your company’s needs.
Create a Group
NetSuite does provide a default option to protect certain folders. There are several ways to limit access to a folder. The correct setting is a decision that must be made by the system administrator. In most cases, we may expect that only administrators may access this protected folder. A way to get this behavior is to first create, for example, a user group that only holds administrators. To create a user group navigate to List > Relationships > Groups > New.
On this page, you may choose a static group or a dynamic group. The right choice is up to the administrator. Below we will explain a static group. A dynamic group involves a saved search to retrieve the members. You could, for example, create a saved search based on user role.
We recommend setting the checkbox “Restrict Group Editing To Owner” to disable the option that other employees can add group members. On this page enter the group members and save the page. In the dropdown “Restrict By Group” you will now have the option created in the previous step.
Upload Private Key File
To upload the private key file navigate to Documents in the main menu. Locate the created folder and open this. Now press on add file and select the Private Key file.
